teething…cough…colds

Our cranky little man is dozing off after taking his medications. This is the second time that Vierte has been sick here in Dubai and I miss having my sister around during this time. Bernadette just manages to get Vierte drink his meds without the drama.

Last night we waited for 2 hours at Prime Medical for the Dr. Joshi to check on him. Kids before us was also sick, the parents is blaming the weather. Really hot outside and AC is turned on at home whole day.

Teeth are pooping out of his gums as well and the pain would wake him up. He would grab my hand and put it in his mouth requesting for a gum massage.

Praying he’ll be feeling better soon. Dad will be on business trip next week.

Baby sing

Vierte likes to watch movies or cartoons that’s musical and would often sing along with the artists.
Last week we attended a Baptismal party at Abu Dhabi and he was not shy to sing infront of all the other guests. He climb up the stage in the area where the baby’s photos where shown and declared “Baby sing, Mama” and so he did. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to capture the moment.
We took a couple video of him singing but this one is the best. Here he agree’s to sing when we told him to sing for Lola (my Auntie Bing).

Vierte will turn 21 months in 3 days. A whole lot has changed since we moved here (it has been 6 months) for all of us.

His vocabulary has improved from the usual “Mama nanan” (asking for breastmilk) to the following:

“Wow! Cake cook mama” – when he see’s the oven light turned on

Holding his cup up to me saying “Put cookie please” fingers inside the cup.

After eating his dinner he would hold his Dad’s hand and pull him out of his seat to declare playtime, “Play ball na Daddy”

Sowee” when he gets hurt while playing with his car he would say “Sowee car car” or spill water “Sowee ater”

and the most used word is “NO” he sometimes use this word even if he means yes, he can’t say the word yet.

His my little helper. When he see’s the mop or the vaccum or gets to grab a paper towel he would say “baby clean”. I do hope this would continue till he gets older.

One special day he called me out from the kitchen and said “Baby love mama” clapping his hands after. Melted my heart and made me stop preparing dinner to play with him but he refused and told me “Cook mama”. I think he was hungry already. hehehe

Lolo Dad’s Visit

Two weeks after we arrived here in Dubai Lolo Bernard visited us from Kansas for a week. We visited Dubai’s must see places via the Big Bus City tour, Desert Safari and with our resident tour guide Tito Edward.

Big Bus Tour:
The weather was cold and nice but a bit foggy. Among the places we saw my favorite was the Atlantis, and the Dubai museum where we got to take a glimpse of the city’s history. We ended the tour with Dhow Cruise along Dubai Creek.

Atlantis:

Our second visit to Atlantis was a treat! We’ll have lunch at Kaleidoscope where Tito Mon works. This time we had a leisure time at the famous hotel, Tito Edward was our official tour guide for the day. This time we also got to see the aquarium which we missed on our big bus tour.

Desert Safari:

Safari is a must when you visit Dubai. Daddy and Lolo got dizzy during the ride to the camp where we’ll have a barbq dinner and watch belly dancing. I was busy eating chips and singing rhymes with mommy during the ride.

We had fun playing in the sand, eating local dish and seeing the sunset.

our Birthday Bandit

Parang kahapon lang when I gave birth to him, I close my eyes and the joy I felt the first time I saw our little angel is the same joy I have every waking morning seeing Vierte sleeping by my side.

Tomorrow our little man will turn 1! We’ll have a merienda party at home and a big party on the 26th.

He’s now all over the place. Crawls’ a lot and would sometimes take a few step to pickUp a toy. Pretends to read pointing to pictures on his books. Love’s to eat table food especially sinigang and dinuguan. Eat’s like he’s got some teeth when he’s got not even one. Claps his hand and sways when he likes the music. Knows very well how to make lambing when he’s done something mommy doesn’t approve of. Calls out “dada” when a phone rings. When somebody says “tara labas tayo” he would raise both his arms to that person. When asked how old he is, he would signal 1 in his hand. Give’s out a handsome grin when we sing Happy Birthday. When he hears the cat purr he would say “ohh mama.” Adores our neighbors dalmatian even if its not fond of him. He’s morning isn’t complete without seeing this boy selling pandesal. He likes playing with his balls. Prefers book and playtime over TV. He doesnt’ know any cartoon character. Rubs his nose on my face when he’s the first to wake up.

Happy birthday my love.

11 months

One more month to go and we’ll be celebrating Vierte’s birthday. Party will be held a week after his big day at McDonalds on a Cowboy theme.

a few updates
*He blabbers a lot of sounds now to express himself when his happy, sad or annoyed.
“mama nanan” – he’s hungry for milk
“ahh ho” – as if whispering when he hears cat purrs and dog barks
“mam mam” – says this out loud during meal time, he’s way of asking for water.

*sobrang likot na! he crawls from around the house from the sala to our room. There are times that he doesn’t want to be carried and would cry till we leave him alone in his mat and stand by his toy box or the piano to reach out for the keys.

*when inside his playpen he throws toys out of the pen and waits till the toy settles then picks a new one to throw. probably experimenting gravity? hehehe

*lately he’s been choosy with his food, refuses to eat 1 kind of for the week. everyday we have to think of exciting ways to cook his meal or it will end up in mommy’s tummy instead.

*according to Coy he’s got a beatles kind of hair but still doesnt have any tooth popping out. baby bungal pa din!

*wrinkles his nose when he hear somebody say bad smell

*turn his head left to right when he hears “no”

*raise both arms for “winner”

Time flies so fast it seems it was just yesterday that I gave birth to him.
