Meydan Friday Brunch

Meydan Friday Family Brunch

Are you looking for a brunch that would tick the box for great food, drinks and keeping the kids occupied?  The Friday Family Brunch at Meydan Hotel definitely ticked off every thing in the list. There is a massive buffet with a dozen of live-cooking stations spread in the garden area overlooking Dubai skyline and inside Farriers restaurant and foyer, offers an extensive culinary journey from around the globe featuring European, Middle Eastern, Asian and South American cuisines together with a wide variety of vegetarian specialties. Furthermore, BBQ lovers (that’s us!) are in for a treat, Meydan culinary chefs are making use of Josper which is the top-of-the-line Spanish ‘grill & oven’ known for its environment friendly aspect, consuming lower charcoal than open grill. Believe me, the richly flavored grilled meat has a deep smoke flavor that would make you come back for more. While the offerings is massive, it does not feel overwhelming  because of the floor to ceiling glass walls that brings in natural light, sitting area is not cramped that you can even …

Swissotel The Playhouse Brunch

Swissotel Hotel which opened early this year at Al Ghurair Dubai recently launched The Playhouse Brunch in Liwan Restaurant  which focuses on keeping the little diners entertained. A brunch can last up to 4 hours long and the truth is kids are fed within the first 30 minutes after which they are just bored waiting for the adults to be done.  As a mom one of the important brunch element I am looking for is keeping the kids entertained with engaging activities. Happy kids means a relaxing brunch for parents.  A dedicated room where kids can play, have their face painted, work on some crafts and a Nintendo Switch for bigger kids. Another area was all about “playing with food” where the kids get to design cupcakes and cookies with the guidance of Swissotel Chef’s. Parents can dine at peace because the hotel went an extra mile with the installation of CCTV cameras on all the kids area. Wide screen TV are strategically placed in the dining area for the parents to view while enjoying …

Fab Family Brunch at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham JBR

I have always said that brunching is a big part of Dubai weekends, it is after all a time for families to gather and unwind with good food. I also make most of the two days off to enjoy a meal that I did not cook. We were recently invited to the re-launch of Fab Family Brunch at Hawthorn Suits by Wyndham located at Jumeirah Beach Residence. Hawthorn Suits family brunch took place at the hotels Flavours Restaurant which has access to the hotel pool, kids play area and outdoor garden. The place has a cozy feel with all the natural light coming in and the easy access outdoor gives kids the option to sweat it off by running in the big lawn. The brunch spread was presented so beautifully and although not as lavish compared to others, food options were enough to satisfy once cravings. I personally fell gastronomically in love with the salad spread. This is probably the only brunch where my plate was filled with more salad than meat. They also offer a decent seafood bar with oysters, …

sufra brunch hyatt regency dubai

Family Friday Brunch at Sufra (Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights)

I was hinting the night before that I want to go to a Friday brunch, found myself searching for Entertainer deals and was happy to see that Sufra of Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights was on the list. The first time we had brunch at Sufra was during the media lunch of their Family Friday Brunch. It was our first time in the hotel then and I fell in love with the relaxing ambience as you enter the lobby and all that natural light was just so beautiful. My husband and I agreed that we should go back and try out their brunch without strings attached. Sufra’s Friday Brunch serve different cuisines from the Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Indian and Western specialties, wide range of seafood options and specials from the in house La Tablita Mexican restaurant. One of the memorable dishes during our first visit was served by La Tablita – I can’t get enough of their empenadas even the kids enjoy them. The tamarind drink was also soo good. We are planning to dine at the Mexican restaurant soon. They also have something to cater seafood lovers – oysters, …

kris kin hotel dubai dinner

Pan Asian Night at Kris with a View

Thursday is movie night at home, kids get to pick one movie and eat all the chips & popcorn they want. We made one exception last April 28 because it was LittleMiss C’s school concert. Girls in her class dressed up as witches and boys as sorcerers for their Happiness Spell themed concert. We are so proud of LittleMiss who danced and smiled during her performance. Definitely a reason to celebrate. So we headed to Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel located at Karama just across Burjuman for their Pan Asian Night buffet. It was our first time at Kris Kin, our friends said they have one of the best panoramic city view of Dubai. Kris with a View is situated at the 19th floor of the hotel and they have an unobstracted view of Karama, Bur Dubai and Deira. Kid’s suggested that we can celebrate New Year’s eve here with a clear view of Burj Khalifa. The Pan Asian Themed Night offers best dishes from Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan and India. We arrived just before 8pm and the restaurant was already busy with diners-family and friends …

Boca Seafood Paella

Boca had me at Oysters and more

It was our first time at Gate Village, DIFC and that place is beautiful, every corner would photograph so nicely. We all kind off wished Daddy’s office was located there so we can visit him often. The press release on Boca’s new menu caught my attention that led me to find out more about them. The reviews online were impressive, people praised the lobster roll and grass fed chicken. It gave a vibe though that it was not a place for the whole family – they didn’t have a menu for the kids. Paella! Did you see that? They are serving paella with a free Sangria. We started off our Boca experience with some appetizers – they had a couple of good selections but with the help of the staff we settled with the best suited for our bunch. Both kids enjoyed the freshly baked bread and baked potato chips, it was as they say “Really… Really good, Mama.”  Kuya V ordered a mocktail called Miss Loren which was a mix of raspberry, ginger ale and yuzu …

BiCE Friday Brunch Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort

BiCE Ristorante Friday Brunch, Hilton JBR

A table brunch concept was something new to our family. Choose a dish you fancy from the menu which consists of 14 dishes – starters, pasta, mains and desserts. Marco Gigli, BiCE restaurant manager and Sudeera our server for the day suggested that we try everything from the menu. So we did. Among the starters our favorite was definitely the Burrata with Cherry Tomato and Pesto Sauce – all the elements worked really well and probably the best burrata we’ve ever had, both Prosciutto with cherry mozzarella, artichokes with rocket salad and Octopus carpaccio with lemon oil and crispy vegetable come in second place. All of the vegetables had that lovely fresh crunch and the sauce used for the salads which made use of different kinds of olive oils was delicious. When Sudeera noticed that we were almost done with our starters, he asked if we would like second helpings of starters and that he will notify the kitchen to prepare our pasta dishes. We were informed that it will take 15 minutes for the pasta dishes to arrive. A pause we …

Boulevard Kitchen Grilled Calamari

Lunch at Boulevard Kitchen, Manzil Downtown

The whole stretch of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard offers various restaurants and has become a haven for food lovers. Our latest find came in a lunch invitation at Boulevard Kitchen of  Manzil Downtown. I gave our reservation details at the reception and they seem confused and surprised that we were there. A gracious lady asked where we want to be seated, the kids replied that they would love to sit outside, the courtyard area, she informed us that we can’t because it’s the smoking and shisha area. We settled at the corner table with a view of the open kitchen, the kids always enjoy watching the chef’s work. It was surprising that we were only handed a two pages lunch menu, refreshing as it gave an impression that the dishes were carefully chosen. They now have a 3 course menu selection with shisha for AED 119 per person from 12pm until 4pm. We started off with dishes from the Soup & Salad selection and chose Grilled Calamari Skewers and Smoked Salmon. Roasted peppers and tomato salsa with chili vinaigrette complimented well with the perfectly charred calamari. Even …
