Freshly Foods Chicken Shawarma Lettuce Wrap

Freshly Foods – My Emergency Food Stash

Do you have those days where you just don’t have any idea on what to feed your family? I have plenty. I try my best to plan our weekly menu but sometimes life as a stay-at-home mom gets in the way. Why? I wear several hats – a chef, blogger, main cleaner, teacher (my eldest it seems have exams every week), playmate and referee…are just a few hats I wear. It is overwhelming. As much as I want to prepare fresh cooked food every meal time for my bunch (kids + husband), I sometimes just don’t have the energy (and time) to do it.  So I rely on store bought frozen food a few times a week (specially for lunch box) to get by. Choosing the right one is quite a bit of a challenge because I have to make sure that it is not made of junk and that my kids will eat it. While shopping at Lulu Hypermarket we chanced upon the tasting booth of Freshly Foods  a company that prides itself for producing premium and MDM free food products. My kids loved everything at …

Pizza heart valentines theme bento

A simple Valentine’s Day Bento Lunch Box

This is LittleMiss’s first Valentines Day where she is aware that it is a special day to express your love. Last week, Kuya V handed me a Valentines card and this made LittleMiss sad that it prompted her to ask (while crying) “How about me, Kuya?” We lied and said that it was for her too. This made her happy. “I love you, Kuya! Happy Valentines Day.” Later that night she asked me to help her tell Daddy about Valentines day. We showed Daddy the card Kuya V made for us. “Daddy, you will give me flowers and chocolate hearts on Valentines.” She woke up with a red rose and kiss from Daddy. Before he left though, she reminded her to buy chocolate hearts. Here’s a simple bento to celebrate Valentines Day! Kuya Vierte: Pepperoni pizza hearts, sweet corn, LOVE apple and cereal bar. LittleMiss C: LOVE apple, sweet corn and pepperoni pizza Bento tools: knife to cut pizza and fondant letter cutters for LOVE apple. Happy Valentine’s Day! 2016 Bento Week: January 3 – 7

Hello 2016! I’m back to preparing baon for my happy crazy bunch. I hope this will help and inspire you to pack lunch. Sunday It’s the first day back to school after the winter break. Fried chicken was baked the night before and the steamed rice prepared that morning. LittleMiss starts FS1 in her new school. I wanted to prepare something that will make her smile while she’s in school. She was crying when I left her but was very happy when I picked her up after class. Thankful that her schoolmates made her feel happy. Kuya V was excited to see his friends. It’s going to be a busy month for us since we are preparing for his term 1 exams. How I wish they stuck with the exam schedules we had last school year, it was less stressful for all of us. Monday The night before we bought bread from Ceasars Bakeshop for baon. Chicken Tikka Roll for Kuya V and Cheese Bun for LittleMiss. Tuesday Bread was toasted on a hot frying pan with butter because I don’t own a toaster. …

This was quite a challenging week, I was not feeling quite myself – no energy to get up early in the morning and do chores the rest of the day. 2015 Bento Week: September 6 – 10

Second week of school and we are getting into the groove. I should really plan a week worth of packed lunch for the bunch but still procrastinating in doing one, hopefully before the month ends. Here’s our bento baon for the week. Sunday We had fish tempura for dinner and the LittleOne’s loved it, they requested that I pack it for their baon this week. My one concern is how to keep tempura crispy by lunch time, recipe and tips on how to keep it a bit crispy, here. Inside our goodbyn we have fish tempura + ketchup, sweet corn, mandarin oranges.   Monday Kuya V shared over our tea time that most of his friends only pack 1 food in school while he has lot’s of choices and thanked me for giving him a good baon. I told him that his bento today will remind him to always eat his school food or else Mama’s mood will be grumpy. We packed sweet ham, rice, boiled egg and waffles inside our smash box containers bought …
