DIY Fairy Lantern

How to make a Fairy Lantern

This month the PPS Design Team will create projects with HOPE as a theme. My kids believe in fairies and making wishes. I do too. I want to keep that magic of hope burning inside them until they grow old and have kids of their own. The kids really liked the idea of having their own fairy lanterns. Their very own fairy to watch over them and whisper their hopes and dreams before they sleep at night. You need few materials and most of it is already available in your existing craft supply. All you need is a little imagination and the easy steps you will find at the Pretty Paper Studio blog. I really hope that the easy crafts we make will inspire you to do crafting with your kids. Once you’re done, make sure to tag our social media handles @PPSUAE and @cuddlesandcrumbs with the hashtags #ppsuae #prettypaperstudio #madewithppsuae.

Hatchimals CollEGGtibles unboxing

Kids Corner: Unboxing Hatchimals CollEGGtibles

Any toy presented in egg like containers was the one constant toy on every kids (I know) wishlist. MissChloe belong to the bunch of kids who gave us hints that this is the toy that would really make her super happy! But. We were boring parents and refused to buy her one. Why? We already have a lot of toys and she already own one Hatchimal. She did not give up and solved the problem by saving up her weekly allowance and earnings from selling cupcakes. Her savings was more than enough for her to buy half of the toys in her wishlist. We helped her hatched her first batch and I do admit that it was quite exciting to finally see what was inside. Does your kid own one?

How to make a Butterfly Canvas Wall Art

I have always loved making crafts but was never good at doing and finishing it. My mom and sister however has an eye and hand for creating beautiful things. They take one look at something on display then their imagination start working and recreate it without any instructions. I need clear instructions (that is why I love baking) or someone to show me how they do it before my creative imagination kicks in. The kids and I used to make a lot of crafts together, Daddy C’s office is adorned with things that we created but we stopped. So when Neelu of Pretty Paper Studio invited me to be part of the PPS Design Team 2017-2018, I was excited and scared. Excited to start crafting with the kids again and scared that the outcome would not be mmm well pretty. Over the next few months we will create easy Mom & Child projects that we hope you will also enjoy making at home. For our first project we created a Butterfly Canvas Wall Art, super …

speedo swim squad class

Speedo Splash Session

One word that would get my kids excited and ready within minutes is “swimming” We were invited to the Speedo Splash Session event that was held at The Palace Downtown. “Oh Mama, I feel like we are inside one of the castles in my fairytale books.” Stepping outside the pool area was just as beautiful with a view of the tall buildings and Dubai water fountain. They promised a fun morning of swimming led by qualified instructors from the Speedo Swim Squad. I could not help but instantly say YES! because I knew my water babies will have fun. Daddy C and I are firm believers that kids should know how to swim. It is one life skill that they will have in them always. Kuya V had swimming lessons in his kindergarten years but this was no longer available when he transferred school so we made sure that he continue learning with him in our building pool and with a certified instructor. Chloe started swim lessons when she began Foundation Stage 1  and still continue to do so now since it is …

Little Prince Courtyard Playhouse Casts

The Little Prince by Courtyard Playhouse

We have two copies of The Little Prince book but we have not finished reading the story. I bought our very first copy when I was pregnant to Kuya V, we never get to finish the book in one sitting though. Thankfully, a movie was released adapted from the story of the Little Prince last 2015. Oh how we enjoyed the movie and yes we finished the whole movie in one sitting. Vierte started flipping through the book and declared that he’s done reading it. An invite came to my inbox asking to bring the kids along for a magical and interactive experience to watch The Little Prince at The Courtyard Playhouse , I immediately replied YES. I knew that both Kuya V & LittleMiss C will enjoy the interactive play experience, it is also a first time for all of us. The Courtyard Playhouse, is Dubai’s first independent, family owned and run, KHDA licensed performing arts training centre dedicated improvised theatre. The theatre is located in Al Quoz area just right next to the Times Square and near …

How to make slime dough

Slime Dough

Lately, my LittleOnes are into making slime – first one with borax and this time with chia seeds. The look on their face when everything comes together is priceless, it’s like magic happening right before their eyes. Johnson’s surprised us a gift basket of their newest Pure Protect Kids range. To the kids delight it included an exploration recipe booklet and one of the recipe is this slime dough we are sharing with you today. I was not able to take photos during playtime, our hands were sticky and play area so messy.
