Last week, we spent a relaxing family day-cation at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. We were surprised on how big the place is, it seemed small from the street of Jumeirah Beach Road. Lush green propery overlooking a 350 metre white sandy beach of the Arabian Gulf will take you away from busy Dubai life.
This is a continuation of our Fujairah city tour, our first stop was at Al Hayl Fort & Square after that it was a long drive to Al Badiya Mosque. There was a lot to see on our way to UAE’s oldest mosque-Fujairah’s round abouts, new palace of the emirates ruler, oil storage tanks and the coastline.
Few weeks before our staycation at Fujairah, Kuya V’s Social Studies homework was to gather pictures of fort’s found in United Arab Emirates. Fort is a building designed to defend the country and sorrounded by troops. He was so excited to finally see the fort in real life. (A personal note for my husband) Travelling with kids is not just about visiting amusement parks, it is a perfect way to teach them about history too.
Last weekend, we packed some stuff and drove to Fujairah. Novotel Hotel was our host for two nights, which is located at the heart of the city and just a few minutes away from the city mall. You can search for Hotel Novotel Fujairah on your google maps for easy navigation. Daddy C mentioned that Novotel/Ibis hotel’s caters mostly to business travelers. I didn’t do any research on what the hotel has to offer for our family of four, Daddy was sure though that if they have a swimming pool then him and the kids will be happy.
The kids and I survived a total of 12 hrs of flight and 6 hrs of waiting in the airport. We are finally in Davao spending time with my side of the family. LittleMan V introduced ‘taho’ to LittleMiss. Taho is a sweet snack made from soft silken tofu, arnibal (sugar syrup), and sago (tapioca pearls). I grew up eating taho (and still remains a favorite), it’s nice to see that my kids are enjoying every spoonfuls. We have limited so slow internet access. So far loving the freedom of not constantly checking my mobile for notifications.
