Baby Penguins at Ski Dubai

Last February 2, 2015 we were fortunate enough to witness a King Penguins incubating eggs at Ski Dubai. News came a few weeks after our visit that the egg has hatched, since then we have been looking forward to go back and see the baby. We went back to Ski Dubai for a VIP Penguin Encounter to meet all 4 new babies hatched inside the facility. Kuya V and LittleMiss were over the moon with happiness when I told them we are meeting the baby penguins. Similar to our encounter before we were ushered to a room where the penguins stay to rest. Paul, a king penguin who is the father of one of the baby penguin greeted us. Three of the babies – Limit, Apple and Pecan hatched last January, when they hatched they looked like a fur ball that would fit at the palm of your hand. In just mere two months the babies have increased their weight from 280 grams to 2800 grams. The penguin on the left with the yellow band is Cuddly and she is a surrogate Mama of baby penguin “Hug”, …

Birthday cupcake at Ariels Grotro Disneyland

Birthday Lunch at Ariel’s Grotto

One of the highlight’s of our Disneyland trip was LittleMiss C’s birthday lunch at Ariel’s Cove. The trip’s main goal was to fulfill our birthday girl’s wish to meet all the Disney Princess and have them sign her book. You enter the main door and then descend at a spiral staircase into the grotto restaurant. Before you get seated, your party will have a chance to meet Princess Ariel and have a photo taken with her. The restaurant is beautiful adorned with jellyfish like chandeliers and ocean mural walls. Windows face the water area of the park which provides a natural light that is great for taking photos.   As soon as we got seated, bread and vegetable sticks with dips arrived shortly. LittleOnes got themselves busy with coloring books, paper crowns and spending quality time with their Ninang Athens who flew from NY to LA to spend time with us. Guest’s can choose from 6 mains from their lunch special, each dish is served with either a salad or soup and dessert. (L-R): Grilled Lobster Tail Salad, Red …

pizza with Chef Giorgio Locatelli

Ronda Locatelli’s Family Brunch, All’Italiana

We were invited to the launch of Ronda Locatelli’s Family Brunch All’Italiana. The newest Saturday brunch offer at Atlantis The Palm Dubai was hosted by Chef Giorgio Locatelli himself. The brunch gives homage to family mealtime which promises to bring the taste of Italy in a warm and inviting environment where kids under 11 yrs. eat for FREE. Here’s a sneak peak of what we had that relaxing Saturday afternoon. Shared starters includes Calamari, Pizzettes, Bresaola and Burrata. Mains includes Italian staples of handmade ravioli and vegetable lasagna. It was delicious and makes you feel that you are having it at the comfort of your home.   We were all quickly drawn to the Sea Bream and Braised Beef while the kids enjoyed every bite of grilled chicken and lamb. Parents can have a relaxing brunch because they prepared activities to keep the kids busy. The Jam Jar Dubai kept the kids busy with painting sessions and they get to bring home their own artwork afterwards. They also got to make their own wood fire pizza and got …

Pronto Coffee Muffin

Pit stop for a quick bite

We are planning for an upcoming road trip to Al Ain with friends this month. Since the Dad’s are taking over the task of driving, my fellow moms and I are working on a list on where we can stop to get food. Road trip makes children bored and very hungry. It seems that stopping by a gasoline station is the best option for us – refill gas, have our car’s check, toilet visit and grab something to eat. We made a few stops at our neighborhood gasoline stations ENOC and EPPCO we discovered a bakery & coffee shop – Pronto. The kids remembered our long drive to Las Vegas last year and pointed out that it was similar to the stops we made. We prefer to pack food or stop by a restaurant on long road trips. Food I get to pack doesn’t stay warm plus eating inside the car gives me a bit of stress because the smell can cause nausea, the outcome I don’t want to encounter. It definitely is good to …

Boca Seafood Paella

Boca had me at Oysters and more

It was our first time at Gate Village, DIFC and that place is beautiful, every corner would photograph so nicely. We all kind off wished Daddy’s office was located there so we can visit him often. The press release on Boca’s new menu caught my attention that led me to find out more about them. The reviews online were impressive, people praised the lobster roll and grass fed chicken. It gave a vibe though that it was not a place for the whole family – they didn’t have a menu for the kids. Paella! Did you see that? They are serving paella with a free Sangria. We started off our Boca experience with some appetizers – they had a couple of good selections but with the help of the staff we settled with the best suited for our bunch. Both kids enjoyed the freshly baked bread and baked potato chips, it was as they say “Really… Really good, Mama.”  Kuya V ordered a mocktail called Miss Loren which was a mix of raspberry, ginger ale and yuzu …

DinnerTime ME Summertime Fusilli

A much needed help from DinnerTime

One of the most difficult task I have to do every week is menu planning specially when you have two picky eaters. The past week has been a challenging one – assisting kids with school work, keeping house in order, maintaining the blog and I’m not feeling well. Daddy C offered that he just buy take-out on his way home from office or we could just dine at our nearby shawarma place for dinner.  Take-out food for two straight days make us feel weird and bloated. Tired. Yes, I was just really tired. I was browsing pinterest for new dishes we can try when I got an email from DinnerTime offering us to try their services. The universe heard my plea and sent them to rescue me. Customers have four dinner menu to choose from – Standard, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free and Paleo box. I chose to try the standard box menu. Every week DinnerTime prepare a healthy balance menu which has been approved by their test panel for yumminess. All ingredients needed for the week was delivered in our …
