Skylanders Swapforce

V was excited for October to come. It’s his birthday month and ActiVision will release a new batch of Skylanders the Swapforce (USA release Oct 13 and UAE release Oct 18). It’s only during his birthday that we allow him to buy an expensive toy but just one and if it’s too expensive he get’s to choose between having a party or just the toy (he usually choose the toy). This year was different Lolo Dino (my Uncle Dad a resident of Kansas City) asked him what he wants for birthday and Christmas without any hesitation he told his GrandPa names of Skylander characters that he wants to add in his collection and to make sure Lolo doesn’t forget anything he made a list.

Crab Festival at Chimes Far Eastern Restaurant

I’ve been to Singapore twice – first time was with my Uncle Dad and it was also the first time that I got to taste the famous Chili Crabs it was so good! My 2nd trip was with my boys (LittleMan V and Daddy C) sadly during this trip we didn’t get the chance to enjoy them crabs. Mud crab is not widely available in our local Dubai market, it’s one of the things I miss from my hometown-Davao. I grew up having a seafood feast every weekend which my whole clan enjoys. A simple steamed garlic crab dish eaten with rice using our hands and ice cold Coke just makes me so so happy!

Breastfeeding in Public

You are sitting in a cafe enjoying a cup of coffee when suddenly you overheard someone asking a mother to breastfeed her child somewhere else because that person thinks its inappropriate and disgusting. What would you do? Sian from our UAE breastfeeding group posted the following videos conducted by abcnews.com on how customers in a cafe reacted to the situation. Breastfeeding an infant in public. Breastfeeding a toddler in public. I am very happy that UAE is a breastfeeding friendly country. I have breastfed Vierte when he was a toddler and now Chloe who is 11 months, in public with and without a cover and I haven’t had a bad experience. Some malls and establishments here have dedicated baby rooms where a mom can breastfeed her baby. On the Breastfeeding Q&A UAE Facebook group, the most common question asked for new expat families is whether they can breastfeed in public. Here’s an excerpt from Sian’s article on breastfeeding in public. The great news is that both Islam and UAE society are in favor of breastfeeding …

Yes, a big one welcomes mall visitors as they pass by Rainforest Café. This is our second time dining in the café and on both visit we celebrated something special. First visit was to celebrate V’s 3rd birthday and this time to congratulate him for doing a good job in school. Thursday morning we told him that Dad and I had a surprise because he is a super big brother and for doing good in school. He immediately though of his SkyLander Giants collection and started talking about the characters he wants to buy. I told him it was not a toy but we are sure he’s going to love the surprise. Touch Therapy – Baby Massage

At least once in our life we have all experienced the magic of touch. Touch in the form of that one single pat in the back that congratulates your for doing good job; when a friend holds your hand after crying out all your troubles assures you that she’s always there for you – the magic of touch.   Chloe and I along with other Mum’s from the Breastfeeding Q&A UAE group won a complimentary baby massage course from The International Association of Infant Massage and Infant Massage U.S.A. with Nurse Midwife and Trained Instructor Sahar at Loving Care.   Everyday life can be so stressful. We may sigh and say “I need a good massage.” It’s not only us adults who feel stress but our young ones as well specially our babies who’s only way to communicate with us is with a cry; oh how frustrating can it be when no one seems to understand what you need little baby.     Benefits of Infant Massage: Helps relieves discomfort from gas, colic and constipation Improves Blood …
