F is Football

We love Decathlon at Mirdiff City Centre! Kids get to play. Staff are really nice. Lots of choices and a spacious area. Vierte has a ball collection (we would always leave a sports store with a ball or two) which started when we arrive here in Dubai. And so we left decathlon with a bag of football goodies for V! and he insisted we go to the park and so he could wear his uniform.

The BIG LIST

Today is a gift that’s why it’s called Present.

This morning after doing some house chores a sad news from my sister Badet and cousin Ate Cristy greeted me online. “Ate, si Uncle Jun patay na” “Gail did you hear the news Uncle Jun left us na” I didn’t know how to react. Just last week I saw and read some of his posts in facebook. Uncle Jun (Tarcs to his friends) has a gift in writing. In his blog you’d learn a lot from his entries. My Papa stayed with Uncle Jun’s family and Papa became their Kuya. My first OJT was with him. I was with him during his stay at Makati Med for his first heart operation. We last saw each other when he went to Dubai for a business trip (sadly we didnt have any pictures taken) this is also the time that he told me of his plans to volunteer and made me promise not to spread this plan to the family. In one of his office he had a big poster of Judy Ann Santos which kept him amused. For …

“balit-tad”

After reading few blogs here and there I realized that I haven’t been writing/updating this one. Bad me! “balit-tad” (baliktad) a Tagalog word which means up side down, example: wearing the right shoe on your left foot.  This is Vierte’s current favorite Tagalog word, he would sometimes read his book the wrong way and call my attention to announce “ma book is balit-tad” or when he wears his shoe/slippers in the wrong foot “Oh-oh balit-tad…Mama ano ba yan!” and laugh. He picks up his Tagalog words when Coy and I talk and his Bisaya words when he hears me talk to my Mama or my siblings. His Lolo Dino insists that we speak to him only in one language para di daw maguluhan. Coy and I on the other hand wants him to learn Tagalog and Bisaya para naman pag umuwi kami he can converse with his cousins at di “mabebenta” kasi naiintindihan nya yung mga taong nakapaligid sa kanya. Next year when he starts school Arabic and French classes are included in the curriculum, …

PooPottyWee

A few weeks after he turned two I introduced him to his potty seat a gift from Mamita. We started with telling him our potty time and would let him come inside the bathroom with either mom and dad.1st week:“Oh oh mama is yucky!” – that’s after him taking a wee on his brief. I would let him seat on the loo after and announce potty wee time2nd week:Addicted to the loo by now, every 30  minutes he would announce potty time. We only had 1 wee accident this week.3rd week:Got tired of it! He completely forgot potty time and we were back to wearing nappy.4th week:Insist in wearing his brief’s only and during our mall trip he would hold on to his wee till we get to the loo.

Vierte turns Two

We had a week long celebration for Vierte’s 2nd birthday.  Oct 15 @ Dubai Mall to watch Dubai Water Fountain show. Oct 16 @ Daddy’s basketball game.  I baked chocolate cupcakes and double chocolate cake for the kids (and adults to enjoy).       Vierte with his CB&I friends and his birthday cake and cupcake Oct 17 @ Mamzar Park Swimming Pool area On the eve of his bday Dad and I prepared balloons and gifts and arranged it at the sala floor as a surprise when he wakes up. Then we headed to Mamzar park with Daddy’s friends.    “wow mama many balloons”

teething…cough…colds

Our cranky little man is dozing off after taking his medications. This is the second time that Vierte has been sick here in Dubai and I miss having my sister around during this time. Bernadette just manages to get Vierte drink his meds without the drama.Last night we waited for 2 hours at Prime Medical for the Dr. Joshi to check on him. Kids before us was also sick, the parents is blaming the weather. Really hot outside and AC is turned on at home whole day. Teeth are pooping out of his gums as well and the pain would wake him up. He would grab my hand and put it in his mouth requesting for a gum massage. Praying he’ll be feeling better soon. Dad will be on business trip next week.

Baby sing

Vierte likes to watch movies or cartoons that’s musical and would often sing along with the artists. Last week we attended a Baptismal party at Abu Dhabi and he was not shy to sing infront of all the other guests. He climb up the stage in the area where the baby’s photos where shown and declared “Baby sing, Mama” and so he did. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to capture the moment. We took a couple video of him singing but this one is the best. Here he agree’s to sing when we told him to sing for Lola (my Auntie Bing).
