Cuddles and Crumbs

MyNappyTales is now Cuddles and Crumbs

The name ‘Cuddles and Crumbs’ is a combination of the two main things I share on this blog: cuddles(family) and crumbs (food). It took me almost 6 months thinking of a name that would clearly reflect what I share here. A big thank you to my family and friends for helping me choose the new name.

I hope you like the new name and please do update your bookmarks.

a background on my blogging journey

I started blogging way before my SAHM profession; I can no longer remember what year but it was Ainna who influenced me to start a blog which I named ‘mindburst’. I met new friends and belonged to a group of Bisaya bloggers (I’m still in touch with them). The most memorable would definitely be finding sponsors (a Filipino community in Rome headed by Fr. Stephen Cuyos) for my trip to Germany to be a volunteer for World Youth Day 2005.

WYD2005 Volunteers

I cannot remember the names of my fellow volunteers but I will never forget the memories we shared.

Fast forward to 2008 – Married to Mr. C and mama to LittleMan V. I was now writing under blog name ‘nappytales’ sharing life as a new Mama.

Year 2011, I decided to have a permanent space in the world wide web called ‘mynappytales’ – I continued sharing stories about family life and got more serious on sharing recipes I prepare at home. It was after I gave birth to Little Miss C that I felt the need to change something on the blog.

Having ‘nappy’ on the blog name didn’t make me happy anymore since I was also sharing about food. Aside from the name,  managing a self-hosted blog (I was hacked 2x last year) was giving me stress.

What’s the story behind your blog name?

Hi, my name is Abigail a stay at home Mama of two LittleOnes and currently residing in Dubai, UAE since 2009. This is my little space online where I share activities, places we've been, food we enjoy and snippets of our daily expat life. ‘Cuddles and Crumbs’ is a combination of the two main things I share on this blog: cuddles (family) and crumbs (food).

  1. We have a really uninspired name – it is simply the name of French holiday cottage we run – Eco-Gites of Lenault (Gites with an “s” as one day we hope to open a second gite!).

Cuddles and Crumbs is a great name – If I had to chose something to reflect our life it would be something along the lines of “The pigs are out AGAIN” or “Mum, have you seen … ?”

    • Ohh I’d love to travel with the whole family to France. I’ve been to Paris once after the World Youth Day 95.

Lol! Mum, have you seen? and Mum can I? Was on my list of blog names.

      • LOL – isn’t it strange how all children are under the impression we know where everything is! And do come and visit France again one day – it really is lovely and very children friendly, as are we 😉

  2. i started blogging 2003. Pixiedusk is from my hair then which is really really short almost a pixie cut. Then dusk is cuz im maitim =P

I just love it so i use it everything. I was thinking of changing platform soon fr LJ to Wordperess but I dont have the courage to leave my present blog yet. #whatsthestory

    • Moving from one platform to another is something that you should really think about. Hirap to start something new specially when you are comfortable with the current platform but new is exciting as well.
So that’s where the blog name came from! I wouldn’t have guessed it. Akala ko it’s because you like fairies. 🙂

  3. What a wonderful post, I love cuddles and crumbs that’s a great name. PODcast grappling with a box of frogs is a play on words as POD is my daughter’s initials, I work in the marketing industry and I juggle work and play! Thanks for sharing with #whatsthestory
