Traveling with Tots: Activity Kits

ActivityKits

Many of you are probably travelling somewhere this month. We are leaving in a few days, just the kids and I in an 8 hour flight to Hong Kong then another 2 hours to Manila. LittleMan V is 6  and LittleMiss Chloe 2 years old. I don’t remember what state of mind I was when I agreed to travel alone with two kids.

We are pretty lucky as far as travelling with LittleMan V, he’s happy with food and movie. It is a different case with the LittleMiss who is happiest when she’s playing with some toys/stuff: last year she gathered all the magazines and placed them on the bassinet then out then back again. Goodluck to me.

I gathered some toys we already have around the house to help me keep kids busy for our trip.

Activity Cards

Assorted Activity Cards consists of numbers & alphabets, maze, find the difference and color cards. Stickers and colored pens will keep them happy.  Item bought at Brands for Less.

Memory Game. LittleMiss still can’t understand the concept  of matching games, V found out that if he asks Chloe to identify the pictures they can easily a good hour having fun. Item bought at Brands for Less.

MixnMatchPuzzle

Little People Mix & Match Puzzle.

CuttingFood

Veggie & Fruit Cutting Game. We start with LittleMiss shopping for produce from our shop keeper Kuya V, Mama then orders food. Item from Brands for Less.

I’m hiding the toys from LittleMiss until our departure day. LittleMan V is helping me choose stuff that would go inside his activity bag – iPad is on top of the list.

What are you packing to keep your traveling tots entertained?

Hi, my name is Abigail a stay at home Mama of two LittleOnes and currently residing in Dubai, UAE since 2009. This is my little space online where I share activities, places we've been, food we enjoy and snippets of our daily expat life. ‘Cuddles and Crumbs’ is a combination of the two main things I share on this blog: cuddles (family) and crumbs (food).

  1. It is so difficult to keep kids entertained on long journeys. I think you are right to find lots of little bits and put them away for a while before your trip. This year will be our 1st long distance away, but it’s only by car, so we can at least stop for a bit if needed.
    Thanks for linking #LetKidsbeKids

Lovely post! It’s so tricky keeping them entertained, but kits like these will help loads! Well done for going long haul with little ones, I’ve only been brave enough for a couple of hours so far #letkidsbekids

  3. Good luck. If the going gets tough call the stewardess they usually are really nice when kids gets tantrumy. But I doubt that that will happen as you are armed and ready for the long haul flight! Saying that I dont know how I will go home if its just me who is entertaining my son. I dont know if I can travel with him that long alone.

I want to visit Manila too! #LetKidsBeKids

  4. Fantastic advice. I’m taking monkey to Thailand next year – so will be gathering all sorts of activities such as sticker books. But the memory game you have looks great. Shall be checking them out. #letkidsbekids
