Excited to be hosting my 2nd giveaway that the whole family can enjoy.
We have recently changed from using bar soap to body wash for LittleMan V, he developed allergy on his armpits when we use our regular bar. Since then I’ve been looking for a product that we can all use as it is more budget friendly compared to buying different brands for each member of the family.
Our family have been Vaseline users for a long time –Â Cocoa Glow body lotion is a family favorite and ever since the LittleOnes’ were babies the petroleum jelly is always present in our baby bag.
Ice cream is one dessert that all of us love at home! Â It’s a bit of a problem since we are trying to cut unhealthy sweets in our diet. I saw a Yonanas ad on YouTube back in March 2013 and I want to have one!
Just before we left for our summer vacation, we were invited by Dole for the media preview of Yonanas hosted by  Marina Mums at MAKE Business Hub Dubai.
Yonanas promises to give you a healthy frozen dessert that is sugar-free and dairy free. A machine that uses a new technology to transform frozen bananas and other fruit into a dessert that looks and tastes like an indulgent soft-serve ice cream. Â
Now, you might argue with me and say that – you can also use your good old blender to make one. I agree that you can make a healthy dessert with your blender, I tried but was never successful in achieving the creamy ice cream texture using one … and how many of us are comfortable having our little one’s (mine are ages 7 & 2) use a blender or food processor? I’m not.
Yonanas’ grinding blades is enclosed in the machine and not open to your littleOnes’ curious fingers. All your kids need to do is place banana & fruits on the tube, turn on and push fruit using a plastic pusher – Done!
Here’s a short video of my LittleOnes’ making our “ice-cream” snack using Yonanas machine.
Trivia – Yonanas name is the blending of frozen yoghurt and bananas. The idea was to create a word that sounded like frozen yoghurt and highlights the main fruit used to make the healthy dessert which is the bananas.
Yonannas retails for AED 299, and is available at leading hypermarkets, including Carrefour, Geant, Spinneys, Sharaf DG, Choitrams, Ansar Mall, and Al Meera outlets.
It’s been 10 day’s since we got back from our vacation and I’ve been busy unpacking and keeping the house back on track. Everything seem so new yet familiar (if that makes any sense).Â
I hope to get back to blogging weekly and post a review on our new favorite product – Yonanas.Â
Vacation is certainly over as it’s back to school for Kuya V this week.Â
He requested for our homemade healthy chicken nuggets for his back to school lunch. I’ve made a few changes on the recipe (added broccoli) and hope to post recipe soon. For now you can get recipe here or you can pick-up the September issue of Good Housekeeping. So happy that our very own chicken nuggets was selected as one of the suggested packed lunches along with other easy yummy recipes.Â
The kids and I survived a total of 12 hrs of flight and 6 hrs of waiting in the airport.
We are finally in Davao spending time with my side of the family.
LittleMan V introduced ‘taho’ to LittleMiss.
Taho is a sweet snack made from soft silken tofu, arnibal (sugar syrup), and sago (tapioca pearls). I grew up eating taho (and still remains a favorite), it’s nice to see that my kids are enjoying every spoonfuls.
We have limited so slow internet access. So far loving the freedom of not constantly checking my mobile for notifications.
Many of you are probably travelling somewhere this month. We are leaving in a few days, just the kids and I in an 8 hour flight to Hong Kong then another 2 hours to Manila. LittleMan V is 6 Â and LittleMiss Chloe 2 years old. I don’t remember what state of mind I was when I agreed to travel alone with two kids.
We are pretty lucky as far as travelling with LittleMan V, he’s happy with food and movie. It is a different case with the LittleMiss who is happiest when she’s playing with some toys/stuff: last year she gathered all the magazines and placed them on the bassinet then out then back again. Goodluck to me.
I gathered some toys we already have around the house to help me keep kids busy for our trip.
Assorted Activity Cards consists of numbers & alphabets, maze, find the difference and color cards. Stickers and colored pens will keep them happy.  Item bought at Brands for Less.
Memory Game. LittleMiss still can’t understand the concept  of matching games, V found out that if he asks Chloe to identify the pictures they can easily a good hour having fun. Item bought at Brands for Less.
Little People Mix & Match Puzzle.Â
Veggie & Fruit Cutting Game. We start with LittleMiss shopping for produce from our shop keeper Kuya V, Mama then orders food. Item from Brands for Less.
I’m hiding the toys from LittleMiss until our departure day. LittleMan V is helping me choose stuff that would go inside his activity bag – iPad is on top of the list.
What are you packing to keep your traveling tots entertained?
A few months back I strictly stayed off wheat and my body was happy – no migraine. I’ve slipped off wheat elimination this month as we’ve had a lot of parties to attend too and well I just gave in to temptation. Removing wheat from your diet requires planning specially if you’re family is used to snacking on bread, cake and the sorts.
LittleMiss Chloe wakes-up every morning at around 6:30 am just in time to kiss Daddy & Kuya V goodbye, after that we either play a little or she asks for nanan and go back to sleep.
That morning was different, LittleMiss and Kuya played while waiting for Daddy to finish dressing up for work. After saying our bye’s, she told me “No nappy Mama.” I arranged a mat under her blanket and allowed her to sleep without any nappy. She has been refusing to wear either cloth diaper or disposables for a few days now – maybe we are ready to potty train.
I went out the bedroom and proceeded to do my house chores. A few minutes later she went out with a disposable in one hand and stood at the corner of our sofa. Read More
Mr. C got his Father’s day present from us last weekend, he bought a shirt and I paid for it. Boring! He was really happy about it though.
We were in bed with both kids sleeping when he suddenly blurted out how fast the kids are growing – LittleMiss will turn 2 yrs and LittleMan 7 yr old this year. Making a handprint of the kids to remind him (us) that they will always be our babies is a perfect gift.
It is something that everyone in the family can do, even kids as young as 2 years old.
